At least five people were martyred in a bombing of petrochemical facilities in the Mahshahr special economic zone in Southwestern Iran, Fars news agency reported.
Multiple petrochemical companies in Khuzestan province sustained damage to their facilities in aerial attacks by the Washington and Tel Aviv regimes on Saturday morning.
Petrochemicals are a core industry in Iran, supporting many other sectors of the manufacturing economy, including plastics, fertilizers and other everyday products.
The reported attacks come after one of the largest steel plants in Iran was hit in the city of Esfahan late Wednesday, depleting key infrastructure.
At least 170 others were treated for injuries and discharged, according to an official in the province.
